Healthy living is not just about eating well and exercising regularly. It’s about being aware of what you are putting into your body and making informed decisions about what you eat and drink. For example, if you decide to reduce the amount of fat in your diet by swapping out full fat milk for low fat milk or water, this will make a big difference over time. It may seem like a small change but it can have a big impact on your health.
You should also be careful about drinking alcohol. Too much alcohol can lead to dehydration which can cause headaches, nausea, vomiting and a general feeling of unwellness. Alcohol can also increase the risk of developing liver problems. Alcohol has many other side effects such as an increased risk of heart attack and stroke, an increased risk of breast cancer and damage to the nervous system.
Exercise is another important part of a healthy lifestyle. If you don’t exercise then you are putting yourself at risk of many illnesses and diseases. Exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, improve your mood and boost your immune system.
Try to eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables and avoid foods high in saturated fats and salt. This means reducing your intake of red meat, processed meats, fried foods, sugary foods and foods containing additives and preservatives. You should also try to limit your intake of refined carbohydrates such as white bread and pasta.

Make sure you get enough sleep each night. Getting too little sleep can affect your mood, concentration and energy levels. Try to get 7 hours of sleep each night. This will allow your body to repair itself and help you feel more refreshed and energetic.
