Coming home from vacation we usually stop and eat fast food but since it was Mother's Day we decided to look for something a little nicer and after a week full of junk, I wanted some home cooking and that's what we got!! The service was excellent! All the wait staff worked together well and we're very attentive. Since it's a holiday you could only get the buffet which I would have liked to be able to order off a small menu for the kids but they were able to find a few things they liked.
The food was great and they were always adding to the buffet to keep hot, fresh food on there.
It was a bit loud at times but when you have a fairly packed place and it being a holiday that's just what happens.
This is definitely a hidden gem and we WILL be back next OBX trip!!

Absolutely amazing place! Being from out of town the food and service was excellent! Cindy brown was our waitress and was very sweet and helpful! We never had to ask for anything! She kept our drinks full constantly, and kept all the plates cleared from our table, we will be returning! All the way from New Bern NC!!

I’d been coming to the Hitch-N Post for the past 15 years when I visit Williamston and I’ve always been impressed with the quality of the food, whether it’s the buffet or menu items. In recent years we’ve enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinners, which have been delicious and abundant. I feel drawn to write this first review because the food today was exceptional, even better than my last visit, which, admittedly, has been three years. The flavor of the food has climbed a notch. The collards and cabbage were very flavorful. The fried chicken was crisp as always, but tasted so fresh and moist. The overall look of the buffet seems to have been upgraded along with the preparation. If I lived closer, I would be eating here all the time. This is a restaurant I would proudly recommend or bring friends to great for Southern comfort food. I don’t know what has changed but the change has resulted in an improvement. The service was friendly and professional. It’s just a great place for a meal that feels like home.

The waitress/Bartender was lovely and professional, very helpful and personable. The steak was cooked to order and the rest of the dinner was very good . Glad I made the stop .
It's been a year since I was here should plan a return trip soon.
