Having lived in the UK and traveled allot, I feel I know good authentic Indian food.
Last time I was in New Bern I dropped into Bay Leaf for dinner, expecting the usual " dumbed down" version of curry that most U.S. restaurants offer. I was pleased instead, to be served authentic, well seasoned food. I ordered the Methi Chicken extra spicy. It was excellent and very hot, like I like it! Naan bread was good and veggie samosas enjoyable. Service was prompt. I will be back!

My God what an experience!!! Great food! Wonderful service as he walked us through our order!! Great atmosphere!!! If you don’t know ethnic foods, you gotta go here!!!

My husband and I went for the first time to try Indian cuisine. Did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. Service wonderful! We will be back

Wonderful food. Family owned. We paid $90+ for three lamb dishes, two Naan breads, two drinks, one dissert, and no alcohol. The service is slow because they only have three servers. The sauces they offer with the bread are very delicious. The curries are thick and flavorful. Their white rice is aromatic and fluffed, loose. I wished they served more rice. Portions are not big.

Very nice, small restaurant. Authentic cuisine, speedy service and attentive. I enjoyed all of the flavors and quality of the food. Limited on choices and they were out of a few menu items. I will absolutely visit again when I'm in the area.
