Food was exquisite. Wait staff was on point. Restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere. If you like Japanese cuisine or sushi, then they are worth giving a try if you haven't yet. This was my first visit and I was impressed enough to recommend them without hesitation. I will be returning.

We had multiple orders for office staff to today. 1/10/2025. One employee ordered a lunch chicken hibachi. The plate looked like it was made for a three year old. When my staff went back to just ask if they could redo the plate. They were rude and just offered to give her, her money back. That’s not how you do business especially when we spend a lot of money there. None of us are going back. Bad service when you complain about anything.

We picked Sanuki after going through some of the ratings and it was nearby.
The food was NOT disappointing at all! The sushi was fresh and delicious. Well put together and the tuna roll was really good as well. We had the shrimp & vegetable tempura all of which were perfectly fried and lightly breaded. My wife had the chicken udon and raved about it.
My order came with miso soup and a side salad and I opted for the ginger dressing. These are the average of the meal. They were both fresh with the soup hot and salad cool and crisp.
The real struggle was with our server. He was clearly new and was trying, so I'm not going to beat him. He really was trying and with experience will be a fine server.

Hidden away in New Bern lies an Udon haven that may just be one of North Carolina's finest. Despite years in the area, I had given up on Japanese cuisine entirely, and had no expectation whatsoever when venturing to Sanuki, especially when it is playing Taiwanese music but not Japanese music at their background.
But, their shrimp tempura udon exceeded all expectations with its udon and soup that is to the tee, and generous 6 pieces of shrimp tempura. All of these incredible features were available at an unbeatable price of just $10.95. What more should you ask for with a $10.95 6 shrimps tempura udon?
Yes, udon looks easy to prepare and cook, but this is the only restaurant in North Carolina that makes it correctly, authentically, and affordably.
